2018 Hurdley Shield was won by Waituna Creek School

We were welcomed to a lovely rural school and treated to vege gardens as well as chooks and pigs.  What a great rural school with so many exciting projects and activities going on.

This rural school in Waimate have well established Horticulture into their school curicullum.

Once again Albury Primary school participated and gave us an insight into the alpine growing climate, it's challenges and rewards.

School participation in Horticultural is very beneficial to children's learning of the world around us.

Whilst only two competitors in 2019 many schools do have different ways of implementing horticultural into their learning and the Timaru Horticultural Society want to here about it.

The Hurdley Shield has been an ongoing shield rewarded to schools whom are not only growing but also now learning about sustainability and the environment as well as having pride in their school and grounds .
